Emilia Clarke Still Gets A Lot Of Crap For Her Nudity In Game Of Thrones

As you can see, you’d be hard pressed to find as courageous a badass from Game Of Thrones as Daenerys Targaryen, AKA The Mother of Dragons. Not only is she one of the prime contenders to take the Iron Throne of Westeros, but she has also treated audiences around the globe to some of the most revealing scenes that George R. R. Martin’s fantasy epic has to offer.

In a recent interview with The Sun, the Solo: A Star Wars Story star acknowledged that she doesn’t at all regret taking on the role of Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea. Instead, she went on to say that she wouldn’t change anything about Daenerys’s bare-skinned story arc.

There’s not one part of the show that I would go back and redo. People ask me the nudity question all the time. But the short answer is no, I would never change anything. You had to see those sex scenes, as they couldn’t just be explained.

Arguably, one of The Dragon Queen’s most iconic nude scenes can be found in season 6. As you probably remember, this is the moment where Daenerys burns all of the Khals that have captured her, and then emerges from the flames unscathed. It’s worth noting that that specific nude scene received a lot of fan backlash. However, Clarke herself believes that it was a strong scene that really makes a lot of sense to her.

I just wanted to come out and do an empowered scene that wasn’t sexual — it was naked, but it was strong. I get a lot of crap for having done nude scenes and sex scenes. That, in itself, is so anti-feminist. Women hating on other women is just the problem. That’s upsetting.

Even though the Terminator: Genisys actress has shot numerous nude scenes for Game Of Thrones, it’s incredibly unlikely that she’ll be showing off her birthday suit any time soon. With a final battle that’ll be bigger than Lord Of The Rings‘ Helm’s Deep, the upcoming season 8 of HBO’s super popular TV show will likely be action-heavy.
